Notes from the Horizon – September 2026
It’s been a while since I’ve sent something to the email list and I hope you’ve been keeping well.
Lately, during these trying times, I’ve been thinking a lot about roots.
Not necessarily about going backward, but about remembering where I came from—and what was there before all the plans, ambitions, identities, and expectations accumulated around it.
In that spirit, I’ve been rediscovering some of the things that have been quietly present throughout my life: deep listening, improvisation, meditation, sound, stillness, and the simple experience of being immersed in music without needing it to accomplish anything.
Part of that rediscovery has been the return of Ambient Soundbath Podcast – https://www.ambientsoundbath.com
I originally created Ambient Soundbath as a way of exploring what happens when sound becomes an environment rather than simply something we listen to. Over the years, I led group and individual sonic meditation experiences (aka live Ambient Soundbaths), and I’ve recently felt drawn back toward that practice—not as a new project or another thing to build, but as a natural extension of where I am now. I’ve relaunched Ambient Soundbath as part of this larger journey.
I’m interested in offering virtual and real world Ambient Soundbath sessions, both for groups and for individuals. These can be spaces for slowing down, listening deeply, resting, meditating, or simply spending some time immersed in sound.
If that sounds interesting to you, I’d love to hear from you. There’s no particular format or schedule yet. I’m simply listening for where there’s interest and seeing what wants to emerge.
Sometimes moving toward the horizon means discovering that something you thought was behind you is actually still part of the path.
Additionally, I’m offering free Bandcamp codes for Calming the Inner Storm – Guided Soundbath Meditation – However, rather providing the codes here, reply to this email, as there’s often a problem with sharing codes, others using them, etc. This way I can make sure everyone gets a code without issue.
Breathe.
Listen.
Enter the sound.
See what happens.
